8th Conference of the European Committee for Conservation of Bryophytes

Bryophyte Conservation – Follow up on the 2010 Biodiversity Target

Submission Deadline: 10th February 2012

The European Committee for Conservation of Bryophytes (ECCB) invites you to participate on the next conference in Budapest, Hungary, 18-21, April 2012.

Venue: Hungarian Natural History Museum, one of the top institutions of Hungarian scientific and cultural life. The conference deals with topics related with the conservation of bryophytes in Europe, including issues of Red Lists, Important Bryophyte Areas, Ecology, dispersal and habitats of threatened species, In situ and ex situ conservation efforts, and Conservation biology of bryophytes.

Entosthodon hungaricus Pyramidula tetragona
During the conference there will be a Round Table discussion about the New European Red Data Book project and two excursions will be organized to visit unique Hungarian habitat types and local populations of European red-listed bryophytes. We would especially encourage the country contact persons of ECCB to attend this event, and would also be pleased to welcome bryologists from those countries where the bryology is still a somewhat neglected area of research. We invite all those interested in any aspects of bryophyte conservation.
